PHL’s Paxys, Canada’s Simpro form new BPO company
Paxys Inc. has partnered with Canadian business process outsourcing firm Simpro Solutions to establish a joint venture called Simpro Solutions Philippines Inc.
Both parent companies have a 50-percent stake each in Simpro Solutions Philippines, which reflects the basis of their profit sharing in the new call center, according to Paxys, whose shares are traded on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
The new BPO venture starts operations middle of September this year.
The Philippine company Paxys will operate and manage the joint venture while the Canadian Simpro Solutions will take care of business and client development, according to a disclosure Wednesday released by the PSE.
“Paxys intends to leverage Simpro’s presence in Canada for seeking out target clients in the region,” the disclosure read.
There is a “synergy” between the Canadian and Asian call center markets, it said.
Paxys, the first call center company to list on the PSE, noted its investment in Simpro Solutions Philippines accounts for 0.2 percent of its P4.5-billion equity base.
Simpro provides contact center and back office outsourcing activities, and is part of the Toronto, Canada-based Sigma Group of Companies. — Marc Cayabyab/VS/ELR, GMA News
