Hewlett Packard this week launched three storage solutions “with a common architecture across storage segments and categories,” so that businesses can simplify their “tangled, divergent, complex and inefficient data systems.” The new solutions are designed to replace other storage vendors that “are simply not equipped to help organizations respond to new workloads,” said HP Philippines manager of Storage Charles Ty. The StoreServ 7000 solutions, which halve a company’s storage capacity requirements and double its virtual machines, reducing the time to manage storage by 90 percent; the scalable StoreAll Storage, which provides a simplified platform for big data retention and cloud storage; and the StoreOnce 2000 and 4000 Backup, which performs backup operations up to three times fasterthan similar systems, are equipped with “Tier 1” enterprise storage features for virtualized, cloud and big data retention environments, and are mid-priced at approximately P1.6 million for a 10-terabyte configuration. — BM, GMA News
