EastWest Bank opens new 'stores' in aggressive expansion program

EastWest Banking Corp. on Monday said it opened 10 new “stores” in February and brought its branch network to 255 as the bank continues to pursue an aggressive expansion program.

In a statement to the Philippine Stock Exchange, EastWest said the expansion is in line with efforts to reach out and provide convenient banking services to customers in key areas all over the country.

The bank is stepping up its expansion program to hit its target of 350 stores nationwide by 2014.

East West said its branches are now called stores—which serve as one-stop shops for banking products like savings, loans, debit and prepaid cards, credit cards and investment products.

The new stores are located in Tondo, Manila; Kalentong, Mandaluyong; Cubao, Quezon City; Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Ninoy Aquino Ave. and BF Homes in Paranaque City; Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City; Legaspi Village, Makati City; Tanza, Cavite; and Asia Town IT Park in Cebu City.

The bank ended 2012 with 245 branches or double its 122-branch network a year earlier.

Established in August 1994, East West is a subsidiary of Filinvest Development Corp. — VS, GMA News
