Epson, Jimac offer receipt-printing at point of sale

Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) has partnered with Filipino-owned software firm Jimac, Inc. to provide businesses such as restaurants a system with which receipts, tickets and coupons can be printed at the point of sale (POS), in the back office or the kitchen. The users can print with an Epson TM-i series printer without a personal computer, directly from web applications without changing the printer settings and installing print drivers. The printer can also act as a mini-server, delivering a software interface to smartphones and tablets for transactions and printing. The service will allow users to process orders using smart devices and transmit end-of-day reports to their headquarters via Web and SMS. — BM, GMA News
