Banner Plasticard bags DOTC contract for 4.2-M MRT tickets

The Department of Transportation and Communications said it gave Banner Plasticard Inc. the supply contract for 4.252 million magnetic tickets for the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT3) that runs along EDSA. 

 

In an Aug. 8 Notice of Award the  department issued over the weekend, Transportation Undersecretary Julianito Bucayan Jr. noted the contract entails a consideration of P25 million.

 

The notice was addressed to Banner Plasticard vice president Arnel Babiera.

 

“Thus, notice is hereby given that the contract for the supply and delivery of magnetic tickets will be awarded to Banner Plasticard in the total amount of P25 million subject to submission within 10 days from receipt hereof a performance security valid until the issuance of the Certificate of Acceptance,” the notice read.

 

Last year, Banner Plasticard also won the supply contract for 1.502 million magnetic tickets for MRT3. The company offered P8.697 million for the project compared with government-approved budget for P9.386 million. – VS, GMA News
