The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has lifted the yellow alert notice in Luzon, a report from GMA's “Balita Pilipinas” said Tuesday.
According to the NGCP, the Luzon grid already has a sufficient supply of electricity.
The NGCP raises a yellow alert when the total of all reserves fall to less than the capacity of the largest plant online. For the Luzon grid, this figure is 647 megawatts.
The NGCP said Luzon's reserve power as of 6 a.m. amounted to only 426 megawatts.
The firm has yet to release any statement as regards the power situation in the Visayas.
The NGCP earlier raised a red alert in the Visayas after its reserve power fell to zero megawatt.
Under NGCP's system, a red alert condition exists when the contingency reserve is zero or a generation deficiency exists.
The NGCP on Friday issued the red alert due to the unplanned outages of some power plants. — Drei Medina/ NB, GMA News
