Nissan Philippines announces top management change

Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) named Antonio Zara as its new president and managing director, the carmaker announced on Friday.
“I am happy to welcome Antonio as the new president and managing director of NPI,” said Toru Hasegawa, Corporate vice president of Asia and Oceania Business, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and president of Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co. Ltd.
“This is an exciting time for us in the Philippines and I am very happy to have such a seasoned executive join us to grow the business in this dynamic market,” Hasegawa added.
Zara is a Filipino national who is currently managing director for International Sales of General Motors Korea.
He will be replacing Kenji Naito who assumed the role of NPI president in 2013, during which Naito established NPI's joint-venture company with long time partners Universal Motors Corporation and Nissan Motor Philippines Inc.
Naito has been appointed as senior vice president for Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. in Bangkok starting August 1.
Zara will take his new post in the Philippines the board of directors meet in August. – Andrei Medina/VS, GMA News
