Filipino start-up Govago Inc. is introducing a digitized system for reservations and customer profile to the local restaurant industry for higher returns.
In an e-mailed statement, Govago said it signed a partnership deal with Glasgow-based ResDiary to offer the system to more than 500 Philippine restaurants by 2015.
ResDiary's system – accessible through iOS- or Android-based smartphones – can help revolutionize the local restaurant industry by ushering it from pen and paper diary to the digital era, Govago president Dennis Ng said.
The benefits of increased efficiency will eventually translate to increased sales, he said.
"There’s a long way to go in the Filipino market to get the restaurant industry in-line with the rest of the world," Ng said, noting US and UK restaurant have already moved to digital bookings.
The ResDiary system offers restaurant operators the efficiently to manage tables with the use of a graphic presentation, while sharing information about their customers’ dining preferences.
ResDiary founder Mike Conyers said the Philippine restaurant sector is an important entry point as it has an upward trajectory. “ResDiary has worked hard to put this agreement in place. It recognizes that to maintain growth it has to target areas in which the restaurant and hospitality sector is healthy and expanding.”
