Manila Water's nine-month income up 6% on higher billed volume

Ayala-led Manila Water Company Inc. saw a single-digit growth in its January to September net income on the back of higher volumes across its concession area.
 
In a regulatory filing Friday, Manila Water said net income increased by 6 percent to P4.55 billion from P4.29 billion a year earlier.
 
Revenues climbed 6 percent to P12.21 billion from P11.54 billion. The water utility recorded a 14 percent jump in total billed volume to 503.8 million from 440.3 million.
 
Manila Water primarily serves the East Zone of Metro Manila which includes parts of Quezon City, Makati, Taguig, Pateros, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, the southeast of Manila, and Rizal province.
 
Apart from the Metro Manila east zone concession, it has four other domestic water businesses which include Boracay Water, Laguna Water, Clark Water, and a bulk water supply project in Cebu.
