Datalogic closes deal to supply PHL 7-Eleven stores with handheld scanners
A producer of bar code readers, mobile computers, sensors, vision systems and laser marking equipment has inked a deal to distribute handheld scanners to the 7-Eleven chain of convenience stores in the Philippines.
The Philippine Seven Corporation has chosen the QuickScan Lite QW2100 handheld scanner for its 1,300 7-Eleven stores nationwide. The choice was suggested by AutoID Philippines Inc., a business partner of Datalogic, which produces the device.
The Philippine Seven Corporation was looking for a technology solution to enhance its loyalty program. With the Quickscan, shoppers can use their smartphones to retrieve their rewards instantly at the checkout.
Quickscan can read all types of mobile devices and smartphones with various backlight settings, screen pixel resolutions, and scanning angles.
"Today most shoppers have a mobile device that is a fixture wherever they go. It is the ideal platform for communicating and sustaining customer loyalty. Unlike retailers that use traditional cards, 7-Eleven has chosen to listen to their customers and give them a loyalty platform that works with their lifestyle," said Datalogic general manager Giulio Berzuini.
The QuickScan imager will also be used in 500 more stores that the company plans to open in the country. — Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
