Globe Business co-presented the Gala Night of this year’s 9th International ICT Awards Philippines at the Marriot Hotel Manila, which saw more than a hundred nominations and three hundred C-level representatives from the IT-BPM Industry. Organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) in association with Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), the award-giving body recognized the achievements and excellence in organizations and individuals based in the Philippines who have made valuable contributions to the industry and has put the Philippines on the global map of the IT-BPM industry.
 
Globe Business Vice President for Sales Dion Asencio presented the award for “Best Employer of the Year” to LEXMARK Cebu for its human resource management practices and policies as well as contributions to the Philippine business community. 
 
CanCham President Julian Payne says, “The annual International ICT Awards Philippines recognizes the very best in the dynamic and fast growing ICT industry. This prestigious event has inspired and promoted further development, growth, and innovation of the country’s ICT/IT-BPM industry as a world leader.” Payne also emphasized that this year saw new categories as a response to the broadening and deepening composition of the ICT industry in the Philippines. Globe Business is privileged to participate in CanCham’s collaborative discussion in defining award categories for this year.  The enhanced ICT Awards includes emphasis on Filipino-owned companies as well as companies outside the National Capital Region (NCR).

Award winners ranged from widely-known major enterprises to small emerging companies that have simulated dynamic growth and new developments, as Filipinos have consistently demonstrated world-class quality and performance. 
 
The judging criteria is based from the company’s financial year ending in 2014. The factors are compelling HR leadership by maintaining the quality of HR management; a foundation of HR policies, practices and performance; depth and breadth of HR competencies through public recognition and certifications; development programs and results achieved by the company HR management; and support by company of public goods through corporate social responsibility initiatives. 
 
Aside from the “Best Employer of the Year Award”, the ICT Awards honored different companies and individuals for their remarkable contributions in the field. The rest of the ICT Awards winners were, “Best Company of the Year” for Cognizant Technology Solutions Philippines, Inc.; “Best Filipino-owned Company of the Year” for Pointwest Technologies, Corp.; “Best Company of the Year Outside NCR” for Lexmark Cebu Shared Service Center; “Best Global In-house Center of the Year” for ANZ Global Services and Operations (Manila), Inc.; “Most Innovative Company of the Year” for LEXMARK Cebu; “Best Voice Excellence Company of the Year” for The Results Companies; “Best Emerging IT-BPM Company for Creatives” for AffinityX; “Best Emerging IT-BPM Company for Healthcare” credited Cognizant Technology Solutions Philippines, Inc.; “Best Philippine Mobile App of the Year” for Arko by Pointwest Technologies Corporation; “Best ICT CEO of the Year” for SPI CEO Maulik Parekh; and lastly, the “Individual Contributor of the Year” given to CEO of LiveIT Solutions Inc., Fred Ayala,  for showing a professional excellence, outstanding leadership, and valuable contributions to developing and promoting the IT-BPM Industry. ICT Awards also awarded Accenture, Inc. the Hall of Fame award having won three times in the same category of the ICT Awards and showing consistent leadership, achievements, and excellence.
 
As the Philippines plays a significant role in the ASEAN integration, the ICT/IT-BPM industry continues to be one of the key drivers in the robust growth of the country’s economy.
