Pay guidelines issued for Feb. 25 special non-working holiday

The Department of Labor and Employment's Bureau of Working Conditions issued guidelines for employers in line with the special non-working holiday on Feb. 25.

In a letter sent to GMA News TV, DOLE's Bureau of Working Conditions said that those who will be working during the holiday will have their basic rate increased by 1.3.

Overtime hours will be compensated with a 1.69 increase.

Employees whose rest day fell on the holiday but were required to work will have higher compensation, the statement said. Their basic rate will be multiplied by 1.5, and their overtime hours multiplied by a 1.95 rate.

Those who were not required to attend work will not be paid, it added.
