LRT firm says sorry for train that stalled in between stations
Private concessionaire Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) on Monday apologized to the public for last week's incident, in which a train with a busted air conditioning system stopped in between stations.
According to a report by Dano Tingcungco on GMA News' "Balitanghali," LRMC said that the glitch was caused by problems with the power cables of the train system between the Central and Carriedo Stations.
To recall, passengers of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) on Wednesday were stuck inside the train without air conditioning, after it stalled in between stations. The incident happened at past 9 a.m. when the summer temperature was already up.
The LRMC said that while the LRT's trains may already be old, the firm is doing its best to ensure a smooth ride for its passengers.
Additional trains for the LRT are expected next year. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/NB, GMA News
