Grab blacklists driver accused of showing porn to passenger

App-based vehicle service Grab said it has blacklisted a driver who accused of harassing a female passenger by, among other things, showing her pornographic images on his phone.

"The driver in question has been blacklisted from Grab and we have given notice to the peer/operator," Grab's PR Manager Lorelei Olalia told GMA News Online in a text message on Friday.

In her Facebook post on Thursday, Czarina Obe Nicodemus identified the driver as William dela Cruz of GrabCar (Sedan) with a plate number WPQ 474.

Nicodemus alleged that dela Cruz showed her pornographic pictures and told her sensitive stories, which she found offensive, during the course of her travel.

"Incidents such as these, however isolated, undermine the large majority of morally upright, disciplined and professional drivers that have made it through Grab's rigorous screening and training process," Olalia noted.

"We would like to assure our valued passengers and the riding public that Grab has zero tolerance for immoral, impolite, undisciplined and unprofessional behavior by Grab driver and that we are taking this incident seriously," she added.

Olalia noted that Grab continues to strengthen its protocols to make sure the app-based vehicle service provide "the best experience" to its passengers and drivers. —JST, GMA News
