CebGo flight aborted, wheel catches fire —CAAP

A CebGo flight from bound for Tacloban from Cebu was aborted on Monday night.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines operations rescue and coordinating center, CebGo flight DG6777 was aborted at 7:17pm "due to a fluctuating oil indication on one of the engines."

"While taxiing after aborting take off, the aircraft encountered a wheel fire and the crew initiated an immediate evacuation of the passengers," the CAAP said.

The CAAP said all 67 passengers and crew were safely evacuated, with one reported minor injury.

"Airport, CAAP and CEBPAC on-ground team provided all assistance to the affected passengers," the CAAP said.

CAAP aircraft accident inspectors are now conducting an investigation on the cause of the incident, it added. —NB, GMA News
