PAL launches Clark-Incheon route
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) over the weekend launched flights to Incheon, South Korea, its first international route ouy of Clark International Airport.
In a statement on Monday, PAL said it started its daily flights from Clark to Incheon on January 1, 2017 using its 199-seater Airbus A321 jet.
While flights to Incheon leave Clark at 4:45 p.m. and arrive in South Korea at 9:40 p.m., return flights to the Philippines leave Incheon at 10:50 p.m. and arrive at Clark 1:55 a.m. the following day.
Moving forward, PAL President Jaime J. Bautista said the company is expected to operate more flights outside Metro Manila.
"We will operate more flights outside of Manila not just to decongest the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) but mainly to offer convenience to passengers who need not to travel to Manila for their desired flights," he said.
According to the company, PAL will launch international flights out of the Kalibo International Airport.
PAL, in July, expressed support on plans of the government to remove private jets parked at NAIA. The following month, it announced changes in its flight schedule in efforts to decongest the country's busiest airport. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/KBK, GMA News
