The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday suspended the operations of the point-to-point (P2P) bus service in several routes in Metro Manila.

In a social media post, the P2P Premium Bus Service informed the public about the LTFRB's suspension of its services from SM North, Trinoma, Eton Centris, SM Megamall, and Glorietta 5 until further notice.

LTFRB Board Member Aileen Lizada told GMA News Online in a phone interview that the Certificates of Public Convenience (CPC) or the franchises of the P2P bus routes have already expired last September.

"We would like to thank you for your ongoing patronage during the past 12 month and we would like to apologize for the inconviences caused to the public commuters," the P2P Bus Service said.

P2P Premium Bus Service is an initiative by the LTFRB, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and the Department of Transportation for point-to-point commercial bus services within Metro Manila, specially along EDSA.

The P2P buses are run by private bus companies. —NB, GMA News
