NAPOCOR awards transmission line projects in Mindoro
To improve reliability and reduce systems loss of the Mindoro grid, the National Power Corp. has awarded three transmission line projects in the island.
In a statement on Friday, NAPOCOR said its board of directors, chaired by the Department of Finance, recently approved the awarding of the said projects to winning bidders.
"The rehabilitation of the 69 kV 44 km Calapan–Bansud transmission line, expansion of the Bansud and San Jose Substations and construction of the Mansalay Switching Station was awarded to DM Consunji Inc.," the state-run power company noted.
Meanwhile, the rehabilitation of the 69 kV, 41-km Calapan–Puerto Galera transmission line will be undertaken by the SL Development Construction Corporation, it added.
“These projects will also improve power dispatch and enhance system protection of the grid,” said NAPOCOR President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita.
NAPOCOR recently completed the rehabilitation of the 69 kV 87 km Mamburao–Sablayan–Ligaya in Occidental Mindoro.
It is also currently undertaking the construction of the 69 kV 64 km Bansud–Mansalay transmission line in Oriental Mindoro.
"Aside from the Mindoro grid, NAPOCOR also manages and implement various transmission line projects in the provinces of Palawan, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Marinduque," the state-run firm said. —John Ted Cordero/JST, GMA News
