The CAAP said flights have to be reduced as a result of the upgrade and maintenance works in the radar facility.

The radar will be upgraded to integrate "world-class" air traffic control.

With the impending flight cancellations, PAL advised affected passengers to rebook their tickets within 30 days from the original date of departure without penalty, refund their tickets in full, or re-route to the next alternative nearest point within its network.

"Passengers of affected flights are advised to call PAL Hotline (02) 855-8888 to get the latest update on their flight schedules, or go to the nearest PAL ticket office or travel agent who facilitated the issuance of their ticket or email wecare@pal.com.ph," the carrier said.

"We apologize for any inconvenience as Philippine Airlines continues to support our government's drive to make air travel safe, secure, and seamless for all our passengers," it added.

Cebu Pacific and other airlines have yet to announce the affected flights in their network due to the maintenance work. —with Jessica Bartolome/ALG, GMA News
