NTC warns of ‘PAGCOR’ text scam

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Friday warned the public against a scam randomly texting mobile phone users that their SIM card number has won half a million pesos.

"Huwag pong maniniwala sa text na nanggaling diumano sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) na nagsasabing kayo ay nanalo ng P500,000.00 sa isang raffle at maaari itong i-claim sa Chairman ng PAGCOR," the NTC said in a text advisory.

PAGCOR Chairman Andrea Domingo confirmed that such texts have been going around.

"This is true. It's a scam," she said in a text message. — BM, GMA News
