Megawide bags P2-B water project from Maynilad
Megawide Construction Corp. bagged the design-and-build contract for the P2-billion water reclamation facility of Maynilad Water Services Inc.
“The Megawide construction business will continue its expansion this year, starting with Maynilad’s 88 million liters per day Las Piñas facility,” Megawide chairman Edgar Saavedra said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
Once completed, the project will allow Maynilad to recover some 88 MLD of potable water—enough to supply as much as 88,000 households.
Megawide has teamed up with Toshiba Group’s UEM India Pvt. Ltd. (UEM) and LinkENERGIE Industries Co. Inc for the design and construction of the water reclamation facility.
“We partnered with UEM and LinkENERGIE to ensure delivery of the highest quality standards,” Saavedra said.
India-based UEM specializes in providing turnkey services in water and wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal.
It provides engineering and design services as well as construction and installation of water, wastewater, and domestic waste treatment facilities.
“UEM brings solid international experience in creating water treatment facilities and we are looking forward applying their world-class standards to this project,” Saavedra said.
