Island Cove resort shuts down after 20 years

The Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park, a 36-hectare resort owned by the Remulla clan in Cavite, has stopped operations after 20 years in business.

“The family is moving on to other ventures,” Island Cove managing director Gilbert Remulla told GMA News Online. He did not elaborate.

On its Facebook page, the hotel-resort announced it will close its doors and cease operations starting July 28, 2018.

“It has been a pleasure serving our guest and clients as well as working with our partners over the past two decades,” Island Cove said.

Prior to the announcement, the hotel-resort staged a “last chance room sale” of up to 40 percent on all room categories from June 27 to July 27. —Ted Cordero/GMA News
