PAL gains 4-Star rating from New York’s APEX

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines on Tuesday said it scored a 4-Star Major Regional Airline 2019 rating from New York-based Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).

In an emailed statement, PAL said the “certified, validated, verified” rating was awarded in the US on Monday, September 24. It was based on passenger feedback.

Taken into consideration was the over-all flight experience in such categories as seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

“We are truly humbled by this latest vote of confidence from our valued customers,” said PAL president and COO Jaime Bautista.

“This new 4-Star APEX award is another victory for the Philippine Airlines team of dedicated professionals, coming after the 4-Star global rating certified by Skytrax earlier this year,” Bautista explained.

PAL was earlier awarded a 4-Star rating by air transport rating organization Skytrax, the first and only local airline to have bagged such award.

The airline said it will introduce a new line of aircraft tailored to serve mid-sized markets on medium-range routes.
