Gas stations in Malolos drop price to woo customers
Several gasoline stations in Malolos, Bulacan slashed their fuel prices to attract more customers, according to a report of Darlene Cay in "Unang Balita" on Monday.
Due to the price drop, motorists who will gas up can save between P5.00 and P10.00 per liter when compared to the regular price of fuels in Metro Manila and other areas.
Among big fuel companies in Bulacan, it was noted that diesel costs P36.00 to P38.45 per liter; unleaded, P38.00 to P40.60 per liter; and premium, P38.50 to P42.60.
In other gasoline stations, on the other hand, diesel costs P36.00 to P38.22 per liter and unleaded costs P37.90 to P39.92, while premium costs P38.10 to P40.22.
This is cheaper than the average price of gasoline in the country which is being sold between P44.45 and P58.65 per liter and between P40.92 and P49.19 for diesel, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
“Mababa po sila noon mga ano po P9.00 po yung baba. Halos wala nang nagpapakarga sa amin, kaya nagbaba rin po kami ng ganoon, pumantay sa presyo . Yun nagkaroon na ng war price,” said the gasoline station staff Roberto Bulante.
“Malaking tulong kasi sa pagkabiyahe, pagkamahal. Malaki rin ang aking nakukunsumo. ‘Pag ganyan mababa-baba, ika nga, nakakatipid ng unti. Medyo malaki-laki ang kita," motorist Teddy Caranga said.
Motorists said that they have no problem with the quality of the cheap fuel sold in gasoline stations.
DOE said they will conduct an investigation into the pricing and quality of the cheap fuels sold in Bulacan.
Owners of gasoline stations said they are ready to be inspected, the report said. —Joviland Rita/ LDF, GMA News
