The Mislatel Consortium — awarded last month as the country's new major telco player — on Thursday warned the public against individuals claiming to represent the company for procurement and recruitment.

In an emailed statement, Mislatel said it has yet to begin with the accreditation of parties which would deal with the recruitment of employees.

"The Mislatel Consortium has learned that some persons and groups have claimed to represent Mislatel for procurement and recruitment," the company said.

"These persons are not affiliated with us in any way, and are not authorized to transact with the public on behalf of the Mislatel Consortium for equipment or personnel."

Mislatel — a consortium made up of Mindanao Islmic Telephone Company Inc., Udenna Corp., Chelsea Logistics Holdings Corp., and China Telecommunications Corp — was officially declared as the new major player on November 19.

"In keeping with our policy of openness and transparency, we will announce when the accreditation process will be opened and take all measures to ensure that only trusted parties deal with the Consortium," it said.

"We urge the public to be wary of any persons who may misrepresent themselves and their relationship to Mislatel," it added.

According to Mislatel, concerns may be forwarded to info@udenna.ph. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KBK, GMA News
