Smashburger founder and CEO is now Jollibee’s chief product dev’t advisor


Jollibee Foods Corp. has appointed Thomas C. Ryan, founder and CEO of US-based Smashburger, as chief product development advisor.

Ryan will stay on as CEO at Smashbuger, a restaurant chain in the US now 100 percent owned by JFC subsidiary Bee Good Inc.

“We look forward to the development of Smashburger as into a very strong brand and business in the United States. It has excellent products created mostly by Mr. Tom Ryan,” said Tony Tan Caktiong, chairman of Jollibee Foods.

“We also look forward to his helping JFC in his role as chief product development advisor make our products even better and more exciting,” he added.

Jose A. Minana, JFC’s country head for North America, will assume additional responsibility as president of Smashburger.

US-based Smashburger is now 100 percent owned by Bee Good Inc., a wholly-owned a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jollibee Foods Corp. —VDS, GMA News
