Test run of third set of Dalian trains starts
The management of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) is set to conduct a test run on the third set of Dalian trains starting Wednesday, January 23.
"'Yung tatakbo po ngayon ay ang ating pangatlong train set na mag-a-undergo ng 150 hours of run test," said Engineer Michael Capati, director for operations of MRT, in an interview on GMA News' Unang Balita.
"E-evaluate lang po 'yan, itong pangatlong train natin, at once na pumasa, we have what we call conditional acceptance na nangyayari din sa unang dalawa," he added.
Capati said the test run for the third batch of Dalian trains might take two weeks.

Meanwhile, Capati said management is now waiting for the result of the test run of the first two batches of Dalian trains, adding that there was no problem encountered during the previous test run.
"Actually inaantay na lang po natin 'yung result ng conditional acceptance natin. Nakatapos na po sila ng round test natin...," Capati said.
The Chinese-made Dalian trains have previously remained idle because of some compatibility issues raised by the Department of Transportation.
Each Dalian train set has a 1,182 passenger-capacity.
