GO HIRE DAY

McDonald’s PHL hiring 20,000 crew members, manager trainees

McDonald’s Philippines is about to get bigger.

In launching “Go Hire Day” this January, Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) is eyeing to recruit over 20,000 new crew members and manager trainees as it pursues its plan to expand in the food service industry.

Go Hire Day is a nationwide program that fast-tracks McDonald’s job application process, and transforms its restaurants across the country into recruitment hubs for interested applicants.

McDonald’s closed 2018 with over 19,000 new recruits amid the opening of 60 new stores and the introduction of the new store format, NXTGEN.

NXTGEN stores are in Madison, Kapitolyo, Robinsons Galleria, Market Market, Dian, Telebastagan, Tagaytay Olivarez, Timog Tobias, and Boracay Main Road.

With its multi-point service platform, self-order kiosks, and unique brand of hospitality, McDonald’s intends to build more NXTGEN stores this year.

Chona Torre, senior vice president for HUman Capital Group at McDonald’s Philippines, said the company intends to launch more restaurants this 2019. “It is an exciting time to join McDonald’s Philippines as we continue to open more new stores and elevate the customer experience through our unique service.”

The expansion goal has prompted the company to reboot its hiring program. “With this, we are bringing back ‘Go Hire Day’ which would make it more accessible for job-seekers to be part of our growth,” Torre noted.

For service crew positions, McDonald’s will kick off Go Hire Day on these dates:

  • Jan. 24 at McDonald’s J. Centre (Mandaue City, Cebu)
  • Jan. 25 at McDonald’s Jones (Cebu City, Cebu)
  • Jan. 26 at McDonald’s Kabihasnan (Parañaque), McDonald’s Lipa Ayala (Lipa City, Batangas), McDonald’s Angeles Intersection (Angeles City, Pampanga), McDonald’s Davao Sta. Ana (Davao City, Davao del Sur)
  • Jan. 28 at McDonald’s UN Ave. (Metro Manila)

For both service crew and manager trainees, Go Hire Day is scheduled on Jan. 26 at McDonald’s Buendia (Makati) and McDonald’s Alabang (Muntinlupa).

For manager trainees, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, and service crew applicants enrolled in college.

“This would also be a great opportunity for college students to earn while studying, and for fresh graduates to jumpstart their career with our world-class training,” Torre said. —Kaela Malig/VDS, GMA News
