Eugene Acevedo takes over RCBC helm

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) on Wednesday announced a recent leadership change with the retirement of its president and chief executive officer.

Veteran banker Eugene Acevedo took over the bank’s top position on July 1, 2019, after Gil Buenaventura retired, the bank said.

Buenaventura was appointed as president and CEO of RCBC on July 1, 2016, after the resignation of Lorenzo Tan.

“Our big goal is to go back to being number 5 in terms of resources and profitability,” Acevedo was quoted as saying in a statement.

Acevedo previously held senior leadership positions in three banks. He was the managing director for Citibank, Global Markets head and treasurer of Citicorp International Ltd., and president and CEO of Philippine National Bank.
