DoubleDragon, DFA sign pact on passport processing in CityMalls

DoubleDragon Properties Corp. on Tuesday signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on passport processing in the company’s CityMalls across the country.

The agreement covers CityMalls in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in conjunction with the department’s “Passport on Wheels” program, according to DoubleDragon.

“We are glad to be working with important government agencies, like the Department of Foreign Affairs among others, to make the lives of Filipinos better by helping them in cascading their services with efficiency and convenience,” DoubleDragon chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II said.

“These kinds of initiatives are aligned with the government’s thrust to make the Philippine economy more inclusive and help improve the lives of the people, especially in the far away provincial areas,” Sia noted.

DoubleDragon targets a leasable portfolio of 1.2 million square meters by 2020 comprising 700,000 sqm from 100 CityMalls, 300,000 sqm from Metro Manila office projects DD Meridian Park and Jollibee Tower, 100,000 sqm from 5,000 hotel rooms of Hotel101 and Jinjiang Inn Philippines, and 100,000 sqm of industrial warehouse space from various CentralHub sites in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

DoubleDragon is focusing on four pillars to strengthen its growth.

The four pillars are provincial retail leasing, office leasing, industrial warehouse leasing, and hotels to provide the company with a diversified source of recurring revenues backed by a string of appreciating hard assets. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
