Manila lifts closure order on Isetann

The Manila City government today lifted the closure order against Isetann Mall along Recto Avenue after it was able to secure the necessary permits to operate.

Bureau of Permits chief Levi Facundo made the recommendation to lift the closure order served on October 9.

The recommendation was approved by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

“Upon coordination with this Office and submission of requirements, this is to confirm that you have substantially complied with the deficiencies/violatons noted in the Closure Order in relation to the operation of your business,” the order stated.

“In view thereof, the Closure Order dated 9 October 2019 is hereby lifted,” it said.

Aside from securing permits to lease space and operate cinemas, Isetann Mall also availed of the city government’s tax amnesty program and paid P2 million in tax deficiencies.

The mall assured the city government that it will strictly implement the anti-fencing law and prohibit the sale of secondhand cellphones. —VDS, GMA News
