SM to put up all-gender restrooms in its Metro Manila malls

The management of SM announced on Thursday that it would start putting up in November all-gender restrooms at SM premier malls across Metro Manila. 

"Let's continue to provide a safe community space that advocates inclusivity, equality, and respect for all," the management said in a Facebook post.

Several establishments have began implementing gender sensitive and inclusive bathrooms following the alleged discrimination of transgender woman Gretchen Diez in Farner's Plaza.

Diez was handcuffed and brought to the Quezon CIty  Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) Station 7 on August 13 after trying to use the women's restroom.
