The Philippine Chamber of Commerce Inc. (PCCI) and the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ICCP) has given SM founder Henry Sy Sr. a posthumous award for invaluable contribution to the country’s retail trade.

The accolade was given to the late tycoon “for his invaluable contribution to Philippine retail,” SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) said in a statement on Friday.

SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. president Elizabeth Sy received the award on behalf of her father during PCCI’s 45th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.

“PCCI also recognized Mr. Sy for his support and generosity to initiatives of the organization and for being ‘an inspiration’ to the organization’s meaningful endeavors,” SMIC said.
