BDO restores services after network component failure causes disruptions
Online and mobile services of BDO Unibank Inc. were restored on Tuesday morning, as the Sy-led lender said disruptions were caused by a failure in its network.
"All affected services were restored as of the open of business today," BDO said in an advisory sent via text message.
"BDO Unibank wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused by intermittent access to some of its electronic channels yesterday," the statement read. "Disruptions were caused by the failure of a network component, which has since been isolated and rectified."
The statement came after the bank's online and mobile banking services were unavailable for several hours on Monday.
BDO was under BSP review In June 2017 after several accounts were reported to have fallen prey to skimming attacks.
After the review, the Monetary Board of the BSP in November 2017 found BDO compliant with the central bank's requirements.
In July this year, the bank was recognized by the BSP as the commercial bank that generated the largest amount of remittances from overseas Filipino. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
