Donald Lim to head Udenna's media, entertainment businesses

Donald Lim, who previously served as the chief digital officer of ABS-CBN, has joined the Udenna Group to lead Dennis Uy's communications, media, and entertainment businesses.

Udenna on Wednesday said Lim will serve as chief innovation officer of the group and as chief operating officer of DITO CME starting February 1, 2020.

Publicly-listed ISM Communications Corp. in December announced the change in its corporate name to DITO CME, after it acquired the media and entertainment businesses of Dennis Uy.

"We are thrilled to welcome Donald to the Group," Udenna Group chairman Dennis Uy said in the statement.

"With his wealth of experience and strong values, we are confident he will make an outstanding leader for our digital and innovation efforts, which are very critical in enabling us to improve the lives of our customers not just today, but in the future," he added.

As part of his duties, Lim will lead Udenna's investments in the space of media and entertainment, including the soon to be launched DITO Telecommunity.

He is also expected to identify synergies and drive business innovation across the Udenna Group, including Phoenix Petroleum, Family Mart, Chelsea Logistics, Conti's, Wendys, Enderun College, and Udenna Land.

Prior to his appointment, Lim served as country CEO for Dentsu Aegis Network, where he served for three years.

Before this, Lim served as chief digital officer for ABS-CBN, and was the founding president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines.

The franchise of ABS-CBN is set to expire this year, with President Rodrigo Duterte threatening to block its renewal. —LDF, GMA News
