Maynilad to suspend disconnection activities amid NCR quarantine

Maynilad Water Services Inc. will temporarily suspend disconnection activities for the meantime, amid a community quarantine placed over the National Capital Region (NCR) to combat the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The West Zone concessionaire said it will temporarily suspend disconnecting customers with overdue accounts until April 14.

"Ito ay para masiguro na ang lahat ng customers ay may magagamit na tubig, lalo na para sa mga aktibidad na kritikal sa pagpapantili ng kalusugan at sanitasyon," it said.

"Ito ay alinsunod sa ating layunin na maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19," it added.

The latest advisory is in line with the community quarantine on Metro Manila ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte last week, preventing the entry and exit of non-essential travels to and from the National Capital Region from March 15 to April 14.

Maynilad currently serves customers in the cities of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon, Valenzuela.

It also services certain areas in Cavite such as the cities of Bacoor, Cavite, and Imus; and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario. --KBK, GMA News
