Ligo Sardines donates 20,000 cans of its products to OVP for COVID-19 relief efforts

Ligo Sardines sent 20,000 cans of its products to the Office of the Vice President to help out with its relief efforts for those affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Vice President Leni Robredo gave her thanks to the sardines company for its donations.

"Sa ating pagtutulungan, mas marami sa ating mga kababayang nangangailangan ang ating maaabot. Maraming salamat po sa bukas-palad ninyong pakikiisa sa gitna ng panahong ito," she said.

Last month, the company announced that it will be reallocating its entire 2020 advertising budget to donations for different organizations who are at the forefront of COVID-19 relief and response efforts.

It also shared that in accordance with the existing government guidelines, they have provided "assistance to our health workers and frontliners" and delivered "products to individuals, families and groups suffering due to the enhanced community quarantine" imposed to stop the spread of the virus.

Just recently, Ligo Sardines has been making waves online for its relevant and timely posts relating to the pandemic.
