E-commerce platform Shopee on Thursday unveiled a P200-million seller support package to support some 80,000 Filipino enterprises hit by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

They will also receive reduced commision and transaction fees, and a coin cashback and free shipping programs free of charge for one month.

"During these challenging times, it is important for us to find ways to help our sellers and SMEs maintain long-term business sustainability," Shopee Philippines associate director Martin Yu said.

"The launch of the Shopee Seller Support Package is part of our larger commitment to support our local communities through this COVID-19 period," he elaborated.

Shopee said it will also provide SME sellers who registered sales and marketing support in the form of 20% off shop vouchers to boost their online visibility and sales.
