DTI eyes allowing barbershops, salons in GCQ areas to reopen
The Department of Trade and Industry considers allowing barbershops and salons in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) to resume operations.
Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez earlier said that the DTI is looking at the possibility of reopening dine-in services of restaurants and food establishments at 50% capacity in GCQ areas.
During the Laging Handa public briefing on Saturday, Lopez said that authorities will inspect and conduct sample demos of how health protocols will be implemented in dine-in restaurants on Sunday.
“'Yung dine-in ang pinag-aaralan natin kung may sapat na safety na po ang ating mga magiging customers doon,” Lopez said.
“May magde-demo din na barbershops and salons para kung tayo po ay magiging GCQ na ay ito po ay pinag-aaralan na rin ngayon kung dapat na rin silang buksan,” Lopez said.
The cities of Cebu and Mandaue were placed under ECQ, while Metro Manila, Laguna, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Zambales are under MECQ from May 16 to 31.
The rest of the country are under GCQ. —LBG, GMA News
