Consumers should brace for higher prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products next month as major players announced price increases on Friday.

In an advisory, Petron said it will implement a P0.15 per kilogram increase in household LPG prices, effective 12:01 a.m. on August 1.

This is equivalent to an additional P1.65 for a typical 11-kilogram LPG tank.

Petron said it will also hike the price of its AutoLPG by P0.10 per liter.

“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of August,” the company said.

Solane, meanwhile, said its LPG price will increase by P0.13 per kilogram or an additional cost of P1.43 to the price of its 11-kilogram tank.

Solane’s price adjustment will take effect 6 a.m., on August 1.

Data from the Department of Energy showed that as of July, household LPG in Metro Manila ranges from P539.00 to P857.00 per 11-kilogram cylinder. —LDF, GMA News
