Grab to resume GrabCar services as NCR, nearby provinces return to GCQ
Grab Philippines will resume the operations of its GrabCar services starting Wednesday, August 19, after the National Capital Region and its nearby provinces were placed back to general community quarantine (GCQ).
In a statement on Tuesday, Grab said its GrabCar services in Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal will resume on August 19 and will operate from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the company's GrabBayanihan Car service for medical front liners will continue to operate 24/7 across Metro Manila.
“Following the recent policy of the DOTr (Department of Transportation), driver-partners and passengers are strictly required to wear face shields and face masks throughout the trip,” Grab said.
“Driver-partners can likewise cancel bookings should the passenger fail to wear the required facemask and face shield,” it said.
The company also reminded passengers that they are still required to pay cashless through GrabPay, Debit Card, or Credit Card, to book a ride, in compliance with the government’s policy on cashless payments in public transportation.
“Grab continues to implement its GrabProtect program to raise its safety and hygiene bar to ensure that our communities remain safe,” it said.
“Through our partnership with the National Taskforce Against COVID and the BCDA, Grab continues to provide free COVID tests for our driver and delivery partners,” it added.
On the other hand, GrabFood and GrabMart will remain operational from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight, depending on merchant-partner availability, while GrabExpress will remain operational 24/7.
“Likewise, GrabPay will continue to provide safe and convenient cashless payments to help our kababayans fulfill their transactions while staying at home,” it said. —LDF, GMA News
