GCash partners with banks, grocery stores, retail outlets for cash-in convenience

Mobile wallet GCash is partnering with banks, several grocery store-chains, and retail outlets nationwide to provide more ways for customers to cash in as demand for digital transactions increases amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, GCash said it has partnered with over 40 banks such as BDO, Security Bank, Landbank, Metrobank, RCBC, BPI, among others “to ensure the fastest, convenient, and most secure way of funding mobile wallets.”

GCash users can also cash in using their linked bank accounts.

“By simply logging in to their bank accounts, they can choose the ‘Transfer to another bank’ option and simply enter their GCash registered mobile number as the account number,” it said.

The mobile wallet added that its users can also cash in through 33,000 cash-in touchpoints via partner grocery stores such as Puregold and All Day as well as retail outlets like Robinsons Department Stores and Business Centers, SM Retail Outlets, LBC, Lawson, and Shell Select.

GCash said users can also top up their accounts through over-the-counter transactions in outlets such as Villarica Pawnshop, TrueMoney, Palawan Pawnshop, Tambunting, Pera Hub, RD Pawnshop, Express Pay, Jaro Pawnshop and Bayad Center.

“Nowadays, cashless is slowly becoming the norm, and increasing our cash-in outlets will help provide not only greater convenience to our users, but will also provide them a means to adapt to the new normal. Providing a wide array of cash-in touchpoints—both online and offline—is all about prioritizing the health and safety of our customers,” GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon said.

GCash said its customers may use their e-wallets to transact with over 75,000 merchants, pay bills to more than 400 billers, and transfer money to over 40 banks in the Philippines.

“While we already have over 33,000 branches nationwide as cash in locations for GCash users, this number is still seen to grow as we find more ways to cater to Filipinos across the archipelago and even outside,” Sazon said.
