PLDT-Smart rebrands Sun into Smart Prepaid

Telco giant PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. on Wednesday announced the completion of the rebranding of Sun Prepaid into Smart Prepaid.

In a statement, PLDT-Smart said customers of Sun are retaining their existing numbers “while having access to expanded retail and customer care channels, data-packed GIGA offers alongside existing select Sun Top-up offers, and a wider array of perks and rewards.”

“Following this development, millions of Sun Prepaid subscribers are now Smart Prepaid subscribers and can now enjoy GIGA bundles such as GIGA Video, GIGA Stories, and GIGA Games, which include generous data allocations that cater to customers' various lifestyle needs and passions,” the telco said.

These GIGA offers will enable them to stream videos, share their stories on social media and play mobile games using Smart’s LTE network, it said.

In 2011, PLDT acquired Digitel, which operates Sun Cellular.

For Sun subscribers converted to Smart Prepaid’s system, they can avail of the telco’s promos and services by dialing *123# on their phones or go to over a million e-load Smart retailers nationwide.—AOL, GMA News
