All SM malls open, except Marilao

All SM malls, except the one in Marilao, Bulacan, are open to serve the public for their immediate needs amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, SM Supermalls president Steven Tan said Thursday.

“Baha po around the likes of Marilao, baha po ang vicinity niyan as of the moment so hindi pa open ang SM City Marilao because it’s not accessible to the public and to our employees,” Tan said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

“‘Yun lang po ang mall na hindi nagbukas today. Lahat po ng mall nami,n bukas na po as of 10 a.m. to serve also the public,” he said.

“Siyempre po maraming areas na walang electricity now, nagka-brownout so kailangan pong bumili ng mga baterya, flashlights, groceries, pharmacies so binuksan po namin ang mga mall as a form of public service,” he added.

Tan said SM malls sustain minor damages due to the typhoon.

“May mga facade wall kami na nasira, pero wala pong major damages na nangyari sa mga mall namin,” he said.

He added that SM malls’ parking area are open to the public and the overnight parking charge is waived. — LA, GMA News
