Water production at La Mesa treatment plant stabilizes but still below normal level
Maynilad on Saturday said water production at the La Mesa Treatment Plants has stabilized at 2,000 million liters per day (MLD).
The water production, however, still remains below the normal output of 2,300 MLD because the clearing of accumulated sludge from its facilities' basins is still ongoing, the company said.
"Nonetheless, this is enough for us to maintain the rotational service interruption schedules that were put in place to ensure that all customers receive water supply daily despite the limited supply," it added.
Meanwhile, turbidity in the raw water coming from the Ipo Dam remains steady at just below 300 NTU, Maynilad said.
Severely affected areas in highly elevated portions are being assisted with mobile water tanker delivery services, with the help of the local government and the local fire bureau.
"Clearing operations in our facilities are still on track. Barring the possibility of another
spike in the raw water turbidity at Ipo Dam, we expect to complete the removal of sludge
from all of the basins by Nov. 24, 2020. Updates will be provided as they come," said Maynilad.
The company said it is "working non-stop to restore our operations affected by Typhoon Ulysses." -MDM, GMA News
