DTI looking into consumer complaints against online merchant YST Express

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is now looking into various consumer complaints against online merchant YST Express.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on Unang Balita, customers complained about receiving wrong items.

A certain Doris, not her real name, said she ordered two blouses but instead received two pieces of Hawaiian beach shorts.

Likewise, Brian Dumo ordered a long sleeve shirt but instead received pants.

Rizalyn Juarizo, meanwhile, didn’t order anything from YST Express but a delivery rider delivered an item to her address.

The report said complainants discovered YST Express through ads posted on social media. They also ordered products from the online merchant through social media.

GMA News tried to find YST Express but it does not have an official website and official Facebook page.

On Facebook, various complaints against YST Express were posted.

The items in question were delivered by courier Ninja Van Philippines.

In a statement, Ninja Van said the courier was made aware of several customer incidents detailing alleged mishandling of orders from YST Express, delivered by the company’s services.

“YST is an international forwarder that enables shipping for China-based companies,” the company said.

“Ninja Van Philippines does not hold a direct business relationship with the merchants responsible for the alleged fraud,” it added.

Refunds

Ninja Van emphasized it upholds strict internal protocols in transacting with our partner shippers.

“We are in close contact with YST Express, and have lodged an investigation into these allegations,” it said.

“We are also closely working with consumers in actively issuing refunds for any fraudulent transactions,” the courier said.

Ninja Van encouraged consumers to always be mindful of verifying the legitimacy of the merchants they transact with.

Authorities advised customers to check for online reviews of certain products they want to buy online.
