Manny Villar only Pinoy in Bloomberg‘s richest list

Business tycoon Manuel Villar is the only Filipino who made it into business publication Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index, a daily ranking of the world’s top 500 richest people.

According to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index, Villar is ranked as 382nd richest in the world as of January 9, 2021.

The business publication based its ranking on the market value of billionaires’ publicly-listed businesses.

Villar’s fortune, consisting of businesses in real estate, retail, and utilities, is estimated to be worth $6.76 billion.

The Bloomberg list ranks Tesla’s Elon Musk as the world’s richest with a total net worth of $209 billion, followed by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos with $186 billion, and Bill Gates with $134 billion.

Forbes Magazine also ranked Villar as the Philippines’ richest individual in September 2020.

Villar is the Founder and Chairman of Vista Land & Lifescapes.

He also owns stakes in Golden Bria Holdings, a property and deathcare company, and Vistamalls, a shopping mall operator. — DVM, GMA New
