Globe to expand 5G roaming service across Asia, Middle East, North America, Europe
Ayala-led Globe Telecom is expanding its 5G roaming service rollout to more countries to extend its 5G service to more Filipinos overseas.
The plan was disclosed by Globe deputy chief commercial officer Issa Guevarra-Cabreira during the virtual Globe Innovation Fest on Thursday.
Cabreira said Globe is positioning itself as an "industry pioneer and leader in 5G technology in the Philippines."
So far, the telco has 1,200 areas across the country with the latest wireless connectivity technology.
As of the first quarter of 2021, Globe has launched its 5G roaming service in the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.
Cabreira said the company is set to continue its 5G roaming service rollout with upcoming launches across Asia, Middle East, North America, and several countries in Europe.
Globe aims to make its 5G roaming service available to Filipinos traveling internationally, as well as subscribers of select foreign telcos visiting the Philippines.—AOL, GMA News
