The Philippine National Bank (PNB) is the best workplace to grow a career in the country, based on a ranking released by professional network platform LinkedIn.com on Thursday.

According to a study conducted by LinkedIn, the study takes into account several factors in employment -- the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external affinity, gender diversity, and educational background.

Below is a list of the top 15 companies, according to LinkedIn:

1. Philippine National Bank
Philippine headcount: 8,550
Most common skills: banking, airlines, finance

2. Smart Communications Inc.
Philippine headcount: 18,785.
Most common skills: telecommunications, troubleshooting, software development

3. Manila Water Company Inc.
The Ayala-led utility firm has a headcount of 2,300.
Most common skills: engineering, AutoCAD, program management

4. Philippine Morris International
The company has a global headcount of 80,000.
Most common skills: finance, manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods

5. EY Accounting
Philippine headcount: 8,100

To be eligible in the list, LinkedIn considered companies with at least 500 employees as of December 31, and staff reductions cannot exceed 10%.

"The world of work is transforming, Not only have we worked through a once-in-a-generation global pandemic, but decades of automation, the rise of artificial intelligence, and a new shift to remote work have all reshaped what our professional lives look like -- and what we're expecting from our employers," LinkedIn's Chris Anderson and Yunita Ong said in the writeup.

Earlier this month, LinkedIn said remote work arrangements will likely be adopted by companies in one way or another post-COVID-19.
