Gasoline prices up for 6th straight week Tuesday, diesel for 11th, kerosene for 5th

Motorists will again have to pay more for petroleum products this week, as oil firms announced another round of hikes to mark the sixth consecutive week of increases for gasoline, eleventh for diesel, and fifth for kerosene.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.00, diesel by P0.65, and kerosene by P0.70.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and PTT Philippines Corp. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy shows that year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of P10.75 per liter for gasoline, P9.25 per liter for diesel, and P7.70 per liter for kerosene as of June 22, 2021. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/KG/AOL, GMA News
